Support screen shots made easy

We have all been there. You have a problem with your software and you need to provide info to the support team. Unfortunately for most people that is a little tedious.

Here’s what we do now

  • Take a screen shot with the print screen button
  • Open Word
    • paste the image in
    • Save the document
  • Open our email and start an email to support
    • Attach the Word document and
  • Click Send

Then at the other end the support person has to open the Word doc just to see the image

Enter PolyGrabber

PolyGrabber can be set to launch at startup and it sits in the system tray (down in the bottom right) and its ready for action.

When you need to send a screen shot just right click on PolyGrabber and choose if you want capture the desktop, a specific window or draw a region. Region is best because you can draw attention to your problem by capturing the bit that is most relevant. Now you can enter a subject and description and click send. The images and the cover email are made and sent all in one step – yay!

So the amended process is now

  • Take a screen shot using PolyGrabber
  • Click on the email tab and enter a subject and your description
    • Choose one or more images
  • Click Send

Want to send multiple images?

Perhaps you want to capture the whole screen and then capture a region to draw attention to the problem.

That’s easy because you can capture multiple images then when you are sending pick the ones you want to send.
